Patricia Noel Drain, The Busness Owner's Mentor

When It’s Over, It’s Over

You are probably someone who has been told to do something, or be something specific in your career life. I was told to be a teacher, secretary, or nurse. Everyone’s story is different, but they always choose one of two paths when it comes to their careers: Either you are in control of your life, or you went along for the ride because it was easier. More often than not people fallen into the second. You chose a “safer”, simpler career over what you loved, or never took the time to figure out what you loved at all because following your dreams was unrealistic, or just too hard. You’re stuck, in  job you only stay in because it brings home the paycheck. If you’re one of those people, you’re not alone, and it’s not too late to start over. If you’re one of the people who hasn’t decided yet, NOW is the time to take control of your life and your career and choose what’s best for you.

It’s true; you’re dream job may be a lot of work and resources, and you may get payed less than if you took another job, but in the end you will be doing this job until you retire, which will end up being around 30-40 years, and when that time is up it’s up. When it’s over, IT’S OVER. That’s a long time to be doing something, day in and day out, that you don’t even like doing, only to look back on your life and say how terrible it was.  The work it takes to get where you want to be is nothing compared to the work it takes to do something where you don’t want to be. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to find the best career for you and actually do it. One of the worst things you can do for yourself is to settle for less.

In my book, “What Should I Be When I Grow Up? Now That I’m 405, 50, 60”, I list methods of changing your mindset and careers, have questionnaires to help you find what job is right for you, and other people’s REAL life stories that tell how they weren’t afraid to take control of their lives and careers and start doing what they loved, and how they were changed because of it. I tell how to balance your life, make a smooth transition in careers, what to do if you’ve been fired or laid-off (again), how to find your purpose, and much more to help you get the best possible life, the one that you deserve.  can order it online at my website at http://www.patriciadrain.com/PatriciaDrain/Store.html.
